Stories for the World We Are Brave Enough to Build

By The Imbued is an independent, artist-centered regenerative media company creating films, immersive experiences, living archives, and civic pathways toward a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable future.

We believe people already understand much of what is broken. What is often missing is a vision of what can replace it: systems rooted in dignity, access, imagination, shared prosperity, and care for all beings.

Our stories do more than document injustice. They reveal hidden histories, make working alternatives visible, and give audiences practical ways to bring those possibilities into their own communities.

See. Feel. Change. Build.

See what was buried, ignored, and made invisible.

Feel the human truth beneath the history.

Change the story from witness to action.

Build the archive, the future, and the next generation of storytellers.

Each experience begins with a story and moves through emotional connection, grounded action, and documented impact. We then educate and equip local and marginalized storytellers to record what happens next, returning new community-led stories to the platform and keeping the ecosystem alive.

Our First Doorway

The first doorway into By The Imbued is the Virtual National Museum for People with Disabilities, beginning with Pennhurst.

Developed by By The Imbued in collaboration with PMPA, the museum is envisioned as an immersive, community-shaped living archive where disability history can be experienced, preserved, taught, and expanded.

PMPA brings decades of preservation knowledge, community relationships, and nonprofit stewardship. By The Imbued brings creative direction, immersive technology, digital production, and the regenerative storytelling model.

The long-term goal is for disabled curators, historians, artists, and community members to steward and expand the museum themselves.

Building the Next Storytellers

By The Imbued is not only creating the archive. We are helping build the people who will carry it forward.

Our educational pathways are designed to create employment and professional learning opportunities in filmmaking, photography, oral history, coding, editing, sound design, accessible design, and virtual-exhibit creation—particularly for disabled people and communities too often excluded from these industries.

The goal is not to speak for communities. It is to share the tools, resources, employment, and platform through which people can tell their own stories in their own way.

How We Build Matters

By The Imbued practices the future it imagines.

Our operating model is rooted in fair and equitable pay, creative freedom, self-distribution, accessibility, and profit participation for contributors above and below the line. The people who help create the work should share in its success.

Stewardship

By The Imbued was founded by director and DGA member Jodie Alexandra Taylor, whose work spans more than two decades across documentary filmmaking, narrative production, live television, and large-scale entertainment.

Her credits include Pennhurst, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, The Amber Ruffin Show, and Netflix’s One Shot with Ed Sheeran.

By The Imbued is not intended to remain the vision of one person. It is being built as a platform communities can shape, expand, and eventually steward together.
